General Interest
Startpage.com - An online search engine which uses Google search results without collecting any of your data (the way Google does), excellent search engine. Very Private. DuckDuckGo.com - Another online search engine, independent of Google and Google search results, but very interested in personal privacy. Wikipedia.com - Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia, written collaboratively by the people who use it. It is a special type of website designed to make collaboration easy, called a wiki. Many people are constantly improving Wikipedia, making thousands of changes per hour. Because of the way stories are created, it is possible for an occasional half truth to make it to the website, if only for a moment. Uncyclopedia.org - Uncyclopedia is an ambitious spoof of Wikipedia. It could be seen as an over-the-top response to Wikipedia users, also known as "Wikipedians", who seem to take the site much too seriously. From the home page's logo to the formatting of each entry, the parallels between the two sites are uncanny and well-executed. Make no mistake, however, Nothing on Uncyclopedia should be taken as fact, which may be another dig at Wikipedia's occasional inaccuracy. UrbanDictionary.com - If you've ever wondered what "poofing" means, this is the site for you. A dictionary of modern street terms for just about everything. InfoisBeautiful.net - This site offers beautiful graphics and charts along with some interesting facts about the world around us. MakeEverythingOkay.com - You really just have to try this website, you won't be disappointed. Magic exists. |
